Excavation Archives

In addition to artifacts, the archives contain records dating from the School’s excavations at Corinth from 1896 to present. Included in the archives are nearly 1,000 notebooks that provide a systematic record of the history of excavation on the site; nearly 125,000 photographs of the excavations, the monuments, and excavation finds; and over 5,000 field drawings, state plans, and restoration drawings. Most records are listed in searchable computer databases and a project is currently underway to scan and catalogue the entire archive. This is supported by a grant from the Greek Ministry of Culture under the auspices of the Third Information Society program of the European Union.
