“Triumph Over Time” in Ano Koufinisi

Natalia Vogeikoff-Brogan

Triumph Over Time, a film about Greece produced in 1947 by the American School, will be played during the summer on the island of Ano Koufonissi, at the old δημοτικό σχολείο, which has been renovated to house the island's antiquities collection. The event is part of Constellations in the Dirt (Αστερισμοί στο Χώμα) organized by NEON and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades and aims at connecting Greece's ancient part with the country's contemporary culture. "Through this collaboration, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades realizes an opening to contemporary art, underlining the timelessness of the creative process and the necessity for a dialogue between the “established” past and the contemporary artistic expression."
