Krystalli Glyniadakis was born in Athens in 1979, studied philosophy in the U.K. for many many years, then Creative Writing at the U.E.A. Returned to Greece, had her efforts to save the country momentarily stalled by a somewhat overpowering economic crisis, has been translating Norwegian and Anglophone literature since, as well as Greek poetry into English. Recent happy translations: erratic mental intercourse with Frank O'Hara's opus, as well as Adrienne Rich's "21 Love Poems”.
Panayotis Ioannidis was born in 1967 in Athens, where he now lives, after studying in the UK. His first book of poems, Το σωσίβιο [To sosivio (The lifesaver)], was published in 2008. His poems –as well as translations of poetry by Seamus Heaney, Andrew Motion, Thom Gunn, and Robert Creeley– have been appearing in various Greek literary journals since 1996. He has also been involved in collaborations with visual artists, whether in installations or in performance, and is currently curating “Words (can) do it”, monthly poetry readings where two kinds of events alternate: Greek poets of different generations reading their own work; foreign poetry being read in the original by native speakers, and in Greek by its translators. http://springstreefellers.blogspot.com]
A. E. Stallings was born in the U.S. in 1968. She studied classics in Athens, Georgia, and has lived in Athens, Greece since 1999. She has published three collections, Archaic Smile, Hapax, and, most recently, Olives. She has published a verse translation of Lucretius with Penguin Classics, The Nature of Things. She is a 2011 Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow.
