In contrast to the past, literary exchanges between Greek and UK poets are becoming increasingly frequent. More poetry events are being organised and more literary translations are being published and this is influencing the creative output of a new generation of poets and bringing about the opening up of language boundaries and the broadening of stimuli through the use of language, which in turn are contributing to the development of Greek and UK literature and its presence on the international poetry scene. Co-curated by UK poet Fiona Sampson (former editor of Poetry Review) and Socrates Kabouropoulos (consultant at the National Book Centre in Greece), the event aims to bring together some of the most influential and significant Greek and UK poets to talk about and read from their work.
