The Hellenic Initiative, Quicken Loans Visit the School
John Camp shows a 4th century mortgage inscription to visitors from Quicken Loans
On Saturday June 20, over 80 people from Quicken Loans came to the School for a tour of the Gennadius and dinner in the Gardens. Earlier that day, they toured the Agora site with excavation director John Camp. Based in Detroit, Michigan, Quicken Loans is America's largest on-line lender and while at the Agora, John showed them an inscription of a mortgage from the 4th century B.C. On June 24, The Hellenic Initiative toured the school campus while they were in Athens hosting a Venture Fair connecting Greek entrepreneurs  with investors. The group was founded in 2012 by members of the global Greek and philhellene communities who were compelled to respond to the worsening economic crisis and inspired to help shape Greece’s long-term recovery. Executive Director Mark Arey and several members of the group took the time out of their busy schedules to visit and were greatly impressed with the campus, scope of work, and our history of accomplishments. In the words of one of their co-founders George Stamas "this is the beginning of a wonderful relationship."
