The Malcolm H. Wiener Visiting Research Professorship
This senior position is intended for postdoctoral scholars with well-defined projects whose research interests are in fields of study currently undertaken at the Lab, including physical/biological anthropology, zooarchaeology, geoarchaeology, and environmental sciences. The term of the Professorship coincides with the American School’s academic year (early September to early June) and the Wiener Professor is expected to maintain a physical presence at the Lab and contribute to the School’s academic program, enriching the teaching mission of the School by participating in seminars and field trips. Wiener Laboratory Fellowships
Four fellowships are awarded annually to graduate students or postdoctoral scholars with question-driven research projects involving materials from archaeological contexts in Greece. Further details about all of the fellowships are available as PDF downloads:
- The J. Lawrence Angel Fellowship in Human Skeletal Studies
- Research Fellowship in Faunal Studies
- Research Fellowship in Geoarchaeology
- Research Fellowship in Environmental Studies
Both a presence in the Wiener Laboratory and contribution to the School’s academic program are expected of Wiener Laboratory Fellows. The stipend awarded ranges from $15,500 to $27,000. Research Associateships
Funding for projects of shorter duration that involve limited scientific investigations in Greece are also available for scholars of archaeological science. The value of these grants is up to $7,000 each. Applications should be made by April 1st, September 1st or December 1st, 2009. Travel Grant
Travel Grant of up to $2,000 is available to graduate or post-graduate students from North American colleges or universities to conduct a research project in archaeological science in Greece. Applications should be made by April 1st, September 1st or December 1st, 2009 and sent via email to application@ascsa.org or mailed to Dr. Sherry Fox, Director, the Wiener Laboratory, c/o ASCSA, 6-8 Charlton Street, Princeton, NJ 08540, USA.
