Cyril Mango, Professor Emeritus at Oxford University will deliver the 27th Annual Walton Lecture in Cotsen Hall. The title of his lecture is “Imagining Constantiniple.” Cyril Mango FBA was between 1973 and 1995 Bywater and Sotheby Professor of Byzantine and Modern Greek Language and Literature at the University of Oxford. A foremost expert on Byzantine history and architecture Professor Mango is the author of numerous influential books on Byzantium.
The Walton lecture is named after Francis Walton, past director of the Library.
