Orientalism and Anglo-Irish scholarship 1740-1810 in the Gennadius Library, Athens

On June 4, 2010 the School of Art History and Cultural Policy University College Dublin in association with The Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies at Athens organized a symposium entitled “Orientalism and Anglo-Irish scholarship 1740-1810 in the Gennadius Library, Athens

” sponsored by the UCD College of Arts and Celtic Studies: Research Strand in Material and Visual Culture.

The symposium ended with a special viewing of the rare volumes on which the presentations were based at the Gennadius Library (at the Mandilas Rare Book Reading Room). The book exhibit was a forum of interesting discussions among the experts.
