The Archives of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens is proud to participate in the Hellenic Parliament's 50th-anniversary exhibition, Το δικό μας Σύνταγμα 1975-2025 (A Constitution of Our Own 1975-2025).

The ASCSA Archives has contributed rare archival material from the personal papers of Constantine Tsatsos, the first President of the Third Hellenic Republic. Among the significant documents lent by the School and now on display are an English draft of the new Constitution, Prime Minister Konstantinos Karamanlis's message announcing the first post-dictatorship elections in November 1974, and his statements on the establishment of political parties.

According to curators Maria Kamilaki and Eleni Mouzouraki, A Constitution of Our Own sheds light not only upon the historical events that led to the 1975 Constitution but also on the broader context of a society seeking its voice anew. The exhibition’s logo, featuring a human imprint, symbolizes not only participation and collectivity, but also individual identity. The curved lines suggest continuity and unity, while the open, incomplete curves suggest dialogue and openness to change.

The Archives plans to schedule a guided tour of the exhibition for the School’s staff and members in the spring of 2026.
