Gala

The American School of Classical Studies at Athens and Gennadius Library host their annual Gala to benefit the mission of the School. This year marks the fifth year of the School’s premier event. The Gala celebrates Greece’s rich heritage with the Hellenic world’s most influential leaders and scholars as well as honors those who have made significant contributions to the study of Greek culture. The Gala provides an important source of funding for the School and its academic programming, excavations, outreach, publications, research, and a wide range of free public lectures, exhibitions, and concerts.

Gala 2020 Postponed

Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, our fifth annual Gala has been postponed until Thursday, May 6, 2021. The event will still be held at Gotham Hall in New York City, so please save the new date!

Two distinguished scholars—Edward E. Cohen and Curtis Runnels—will be honored at the Gala for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of knowledge of ancient and post-antique Greece.
