Jonathan Hall, Professor of History and Classics at The University of Chicago, visited with his students the ASCSA Archives on May 20th. We talked about Schliemann and Blegen, read parts of Ventris's letter to Blegen announcing his decipherment of Linear B ( I also suggested that they read the "Riddle of the Labyrinth" by Margalit Fox in order to understand Alice Kober's contribution), and finished by reciting parts of George Seferis's "The King of Asine."  A very engaging group of students.
