Doreen Canaday Spitzer Fellow

Ellen Archie is a PhD candidate in the Art History and Archaeology department at Emory University. Her dissertation, “Entangling Dionysos: Abundance Decoration in 4th-2nd centuries BCE Northern Greece” examines the role of Dionysiac imagery across decorative arts in late Classical and Hellenistic northern Greece. Her research interests include ancient furniture, jewelry, glass, and mosaics, as well as cross-cultural exchanges through objects. She received her BA from Washington and Lee University and her MA from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University and is also a member of the American Excavations Samothrace team.
