Kevin Lee

Eugene Vanderpool Fellow

Kevin is a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin and former Regular Member of the American School (2021-22). His dissertation focuses on Samnite, etc. fortified settlements of mountainous southern Italy between c. 400 and 200 B.C. in comparison with the mountain poleis of northwestern Greece. He returns to the School to complete the Greek portion of his dissertation. Within his overarching research interest in ancient Mediterranean urbanism he is passionate for comparative study, bringing textual and material evidence together, and bridging the Hellenist-Romanist divide.
