Kutay Onayli

Alison M. Frantz Fellow

Kutay is a joint PhD candidate in Near Eastern Studies and Interdisciplinary Humanities at Princeton University. His dissertation project is a retelling and reexamination of Ottoman imperial collapse through the lens of serialized political satire and other forms of –mostly pulp– literature produced by Constantinopolitan Greeks. Amongst his other research interests are Greek and Turkish literatures and the Persian mystical tradition (particularly Hafez and Rumi), especially as these relate, often in intertwined fashion, to gender and sexuality.
