Tara Wells - Duke University
Tara (she/her) is a 4th year PhD student in Classical Studies at Duke University. Her interests are in marginalized identities in antiquity broadly, with a particular focus on race & ethnicity as well as gender. She seeks to combine literary and material evidence to explore the ways people presented and commemorated their own identities, as well as how people distinguished "Others" from themselves. Tara also specializes in Roman pottery working most recently at Pompeii with the Tulane I.14 project.
