Research Topic: Identity and Mimesis: the Semantics and Poetics of Dikê in the Oresteia

I’m a 5th year PhD student at the University of Chicago. I have broad interests in archaic and classical Greek literature, but my research gravitates towards meta-literary qualities and generic reflections in early literature, where readers don’t often expect to find them. Writing my dissertation on meta-theater in the Oresteia has led me to think more about the relation between verbal and visual representations, so I hope to learn how to handle sources in different media while I’m at the School.
