Research Topic: In Death We Don’t Part: A Bioarchaeological Analysis from the Late Bronze Age Cemetery at Aidonia
Madolyn Hyytiainen-Jacobson is a PhD candidate in Classical Archaeology at UC Berkeley and the 2026 Archaeological Institute of America Olivia James Traveling Fellow. Madolyn’s dissertation, through bioarchaeological analysis, investigates secondary treatment and its evolution and purpose at the Late Bronze Age cemetery at Aidonia. Through the combination of bioarchaeological analysis and theoretical approaches, Madolyn will examine how bodies were treated, fragmented, and preserved within Mycenaean chamber tombs over time.
